Course Description

TV Production 1

Television Production I invites students into the enchanting realm of media, unveiling the fundamental, technical, and creative dimensions of TV production. Through the exploration of equipment operation, camera techniques, sound, basic scriptwriting, graphics, and programming, students embark on a captivating journey. By engaging with texts, watching, and dissecting TV programs, they cultivate a critical awareness of this dynamic medium. Emphasizing collaboration and creative expression, students will master scriptwriting and production using cutting-edge TV technology. This hands-on adventure grants a 0.5 Visual Art credit and marks the inaugural step in the CTE sequence.

TV Production 2

Television Production II dives into the vital art of video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro. Students journey through the world of news field reporting, capturing footage with camcorders, and crafting compelling news packages. Building upon the skills honed in TV Production I, students collaborate to create daily news broadcasts while exploring potential career paths. This course offers a 0.5 Visual Art or Computer Competency credit and serves as the second stage in the CTE sequence.

TV Production 3-8

Television Production III–VIII, students unite with their TV II counterparts on the vibrant canvas of GPTV News. As producers, they orchestrate the preparations for taping, overseeing materials, projects, scripts, and segments on sports and weather. Leading their teams, they set ambitious goals and weave together captivating TV content with the latest technology. This immersive course provides hands-on experience throughout the entire production journey, with expectations evolving and challenges deepening as students advance.
