This course is designed for the student who is serious about drawing and painting and a student may select the course for all four levels. This course is centered around emphasizes drawing and painting from observation. Still life set ups are placed around the room from which students work as they create their projects. In addition to working from still life compositions, students will also draw and paint from the figure. Although the emphasis is not on media, students do have experiences working with a variety of media and materials. Sketchbook work is also a homework portion of the class assignments. All students create and build a portfolio of their strongest work.
